As one of Melbourne’s oldest and most inclusive community swimming clubs, we are thrilled to announce the appointment of Kelly Stubbins as our club’s new Head Coach. With an impressive track record as an athlete and coach, and with a passion for developing young talent, Kelly is poised to lead Cheltenham’s resurgence to be one of the State’s leading swimming club’s.

A highly experienced and accomplished coach, Kelly brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Cheltenham Swimming Club. With over 15 years of coaching experience at both the elite and grassroots levels, Kelly has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the sport and a proven ability to develop strong relationships among athletes of all ages.

Kelly is highly regarded for her ability to nurture young talent and inspiring athletes to reach their individual potential. Her coaching philosophy focuses on holistic development, encompassing technical proficiency and a positive and resilient mindset. By fostering a supportive and positive training environment, Kelly aims to cultivate a culture of growth and achievement within Cheltenham Swimming Club.

By appointing Kelly, the Committee believe her extensive coaching experience, proven track record of building positive cultures, and dedication to athlete development at all levels aligns perfectly with the vision for the club.

It became apparent during the recruitment process that Kelly can and will play a key role in ensuring our swimming program is regarded as an inclusive one with a pathway that enables all individuals to become the best person they can be (in and out of the pool) and to maintain a love for the sport of swimming."

We are pleased to confirm that current Head Coach Antony Edwards will continue his 20+ year involvement with the Club and focus his attention on supporting our younger coaches and junior program.

An Information Night and opportunity to hear from and meet Kelly is being planned to coincide with the commencement of her role at the beginning of June.
